Bullying is cruel, hurtful behavior that is not based on discrimination. It happens every day in schools, malls, on the internet and cell phones across Canada. One in five Canadian youth report being bullied regularly. It not only effects our youth but everyone in society. 1 in 3 people confront bullying in some form at one time of their life. The effects are long lasting and in some cases devastating. Bullying happens in many forms: physical, verbal, relational and cyber.
In this course we are going to focus on 3 key things:
- You are not alone
- It’s not your fault
- You CAN do something about it!
Come and learn what you CAN do if it’s happening to you, or what you can do as a bystander to stop bullying. The key to remember is that almost always bullying stops within 10 seconds when another person steps in. You Have The Right to Feel Safe.

Bully-Busting Testimonial
There was a boy in Declan's class that he was quite close to at the beginning of the year, but the boy had started saying mean things or trying to get Declan in trouble. After the Bully Busting seminar, Declan came to us and asked why we thought the boy was being mean and what could he do. After asking Declan lots of questions about what HE thought were the answers he realized that perhaps this boy was actually feeling left out and possibly bullied by another group Declan was friends with. He decided to talk to the group and tell them it wasn't very nice to exclude this one boy, and they should all try harder to be nice to him and include him. Things are still going really well, and this boy that felt bullied and had started bullying others now knows he has a strong ally, and hopefully they will continue to all get along. I don't know, without the seminar, that Declan would have even realized what was happening, and would have continued to exclude him because he only saw the boy as becoming mean and not his friend any more.
